Denise was a super shy, introverted girl who learned how to overcome emotional eating and self-abusive habits to become a dedicated and vibrant Physical Therapist, Yoga teacher and finally, a Transformational Health & Life Coach. She lives in Norfolk, Virginia with her Kiwi husband Steve, a Professor and her Aussie-born son. She loves to travel, laugh, go to concerts and drink Nespresso. She loves to be “the person” to help her clients on a whole new, intimate level. She listens, watches, and senses the experience that her clients are having like no one else so she can quickly and lovingly lead them on their purposeful transformational journey.
In this episode:
Denise shared the situations that led to her becoming an emotional eater and adopting other self-abusive habits.
She made choices to remove her from the difficult situation and found help to overcome those challenges.
She learned how these habits helped her to feel safe and have control in difficult situations and during a highly intensive program of learning to be a physical therapist.
She shared how she works with women who have gone through similar challenges as she did and how it has impacted them.
We talked about the process she goes through to help them move past these sabotaging behaviors and how being a Doctor of Physical Therapy helps her see things that others may not.
We also talked about the inner critic or mean girls that are in our heads and how she has found ways to deal with them.

Marie-Claire’s company is called Trustologie, this made-up word that she made up to show she focuses on trust, and it implies that it is similar to learning a subject like biology or psychology (but the logie part means something different in Australia where she lives)
We talked about the challenges of building trust in teams and why the leader plays such a key role for success.
She shared some great research with statistics about teams and trust from a study that Google did a few years ago.
Her clients are usually teams that have recently formed or who are going through transition.
She recently published her new book called, Trusted to Thrive, which is for leaders who realize who want to get the best performance out of their team, they are in charge of that and to do that they need to create a thriving team culture.
Her book is intended to be a guide for leaders to leverage whenever they are struggling with trust on their team.
